Broker Associate
Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty

Known as one of real estate’s most respected leaders, Debbie Maue is an inspiration to many. Recognized by the Chicago Association of Realtors as a “Top” producer, Maue also received its Community Service Award and holds the honor of ranking as one her brokerage’s top 10 agents. Certified as both a Resident Specialist (CRS) and a Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS), Maue has helped people buy and sell homes not only throughout Chicago, but also in Belize, Costa Rica, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panama. “I take my profession and my reputation seriously,” she says.

Maue entered real estate in an unexpected way. Upon moving back to Chicago from Florida at the age of 19, she was sleeping on friends’ couches wondering what to do next when someone suggested she apply for a job renting apartments. That experience, coupled with her marketing degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, equipped her to succeed as a real estate agent. “I was renting apartments six or seven days a week for up to 10 hours each day, between waitressing and bartending shifts, and right after going to class!” she remembers. “I learned that people don’t care if you’re tired; they want to be served to the best of your ability. You have to always be on your game.”

Many of Maue’s clients have been with her for years, like the buyer to whom she recently sold a $2.5 million home after selling his $350,000 condominium. “I’m not just a one-deal agent,” she points out when explaining the longtime relationships she builds and maintains. She specializes in neighborhoods from the South Loop to Andersonville with particular focus along the lakefront from Streeterville to Lakeview and as far West as Bucktown.

“My main priority is ensuring the best outcome for my clients because I want them to feel great about their experience with me,” this four-time Ironman finisher says. In addition to membership in the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago, Maue enjoys fitness training and biking in Big Sky Country, where she is a member of the Montana Association of Realtors. She is also the President of Realtors to the Rescue, a Chicago Association of Realtors program which mobilizes the Realtor community to the plight of homeless animals and supports local rescues and shelters. Maue also supports World Vision. “Real estate allows me to give back and to be as successful as I push myself to be. It gives me the chance to help people achieve their financial goals,” Maue says. “I’m a firm believer that the harder you work, the more successful you’ll be. I’m my own boss and believe me, I’m a tough one!”
