Photographer and environmentalist Ansel Adams once said, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.” Those are the kind of words of inspiration that fuel Michael Shenfeld’s creativity when it comes to negotiating his clients’ best interest. This former commercial photographer is known to think outside the box when structuring sales and purchases, which is largely why he enjoys a 100 percent referral-based business. Buyers and sellers have come to rely on his innovation as much as they trust in his ability, which is why most remain lifelong friends after the transaction ends.
The father of two daughters, Shenfeld considers finding people a place to call home or helping them transition from one home to another a highly rewarding experience. “I wanted to do something with my life that would truly impact someone else’s, and what’s more impactful than helping someone find a home?” he asks. “After all, your home is where you spend the most amount of your time, creating lasting and meaningful memories with your friends and family. I love being a part of that!”
Shenfeld relentlessly strives to meet his clients’ needs and wants, which sometime requires creating a market when and where there is none. To do so, he leverages technology and reaches out directly to owners to determine if they would be interested in selling. “I’ll go the extra mile to make sure my clients’ requirements and expectations are exceeded, paying attention to every detail and being available for them 24/7.” And that attention far exceeds property purchase and sale, he adds. “My clients also enjoy the fact that my database of contacts ranging from contractors to getting a reservation at a restaurant that’s hard to get into is available to them for years to come.”
In just 13 years, Shenfeld has amassed numerous awards that underscore his expertise and know-how. He received the prestigious Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chairman’s Circle Diamond Award in 2014, an honor reserved for the top one-half of 1 percent of sales professionals based on gross commission income or closed units. The Chicago Association of Realtors has recognized his work for more than 10 years, including awards for residential sales volume and units closed for four consecutive years beginning in 2011. Perennially ranked in the organization’s top 1 percent of Realtors, he has also received customer service honors like his company’s Diamond Elite Premier Service Award based on customer satisfaction.
