As a vice president of residential lending at PERL Mortgage, Shamoon specializes in clients who have never experienced the home loan process. He has earned a reputation for making approvals as smooth, simple and stress-free as possible. Most of the properties he’s handled are located downtown, the Near North Side, the West Loop, the North Shore suburbs and the western suburbs.
Clients appreciating what he does for them is a matter of great personal and professional satisfaction. ”I get such joy at the closing table,” he says. “I don’t think I could ever get tired of seeing clients cry tears of happiness when they have the keys in their hands.”
Given the level of service he provides and his penchant for building lifelong relationships with his clients, it’s no surprise more than 75 percent of Shamoon’s business now comes from referrals.
As seriously as Shamoon takes his responsibilities (“I wake up and go to sleep in a suit,” he says), he is quick to give credit for his success to the talented people who mentored him. And it’s this awareness of the value of outside advisors that recently led him to hire a coach after 10 years in the industry. With the help of a coach and his PERL support team, Shamoon aims to accomplish his goal to help 25 to 35 percent more families each year.
And through it all, Shamoon remains devoted to his charity work, which includes The Night Ministry, the Imerman Angels and the Israel Idonije Foundation.
“The more you make, the more you should give back,” he says.
