In 2009, when Reno Manuele and his business partner first acquired Neighborhood Loans, both the local and national housing markets were going through one of their most volatile periods. It was a risky purchase, but one that has paid off.
Boasting a keen eye for investment opportunity, the business savvy Manuele, who serves as president of the firm, has made waves since stepping into the Chicagoland market nine years ago. For the past two consecutive years, Manuele has been nationally recognized as one of the top 40 Under 40 most influential mortgage professional.
As one of the youngest HUD-approved lenders in the nation, Manuele hasn’t let his age dictate his success or that of his company. “We’re in growth mode right now,” he says. “We’re currently operating out of Lombard, and we’ve recently opened a new branch at 57th and Pulaski. But it’s not just enough for us to expand. I want Neighborhood Loans to be known for our commitment to our customers.”
Garnering more than three-quarters of its clients via referral, Neighborhood Loans, under Manuele’s leadership, is striving everyday to change the perception that the mortgage process has to be tough. “When a customer comes to us, they can expect nothing but absolute, top-notch service and open communications,” he says.
Described by his own clients as upfront and informative, Manuele also stands as a benchmark for incoming lenders. “People send us business because we’re honest and we know how to communicate,” he says, pointing out that their quick closing times don’t hurt, either.
Despite his success, Manuele stays modest, doling out credit liberally. “My knowledge and experience, which are what have really driven me to where I am today, come from the myriad of great and professional loan officers I’ve been lucky enough to work with over the years,” he says.
