Homeownership is one of the more transformative events in a person’s life, and that importance continues to motivate Maria Kennedy after 10 years in the mortgage business.

“I entered this business to make a difference in people’s lives,” Kennedy says. “I’m privileged to have a career where the main focus is helping people achieve their long-term goals. It’s always satisfying to attend my closings and know that I played a major part in helping my clients successfully navigate the loan process.”

Navigating the loan process, though, is often a stressful and anxious journey, and to better aid her clients, Kennedy approaches each loan through a unique, familial perspective.

“I treat my clients like I would want my family to be treated if they were going through the loan process,” Kennedy says. “It can be very intimidating, because there are so many unknowns. I communicate with them every step of the way to ensure a smooth transaction from open to close.”

And in addition to helping her mortgage business, Kennedy is extremely active in the greater business community. Along with her active participation in Business By Referral Chicago, she is also a proud member of The Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce, The Lincoln Park Community Shelter, The Mid-America Club and The Small Business Advocacy Council.

“My goal is to broaden my reach and help as many referral partners and clients as possible – while still having fun,” Kennedy says.
