Many career paths lead to the mortgage industry,but not many are like the one Daniel Chookaszian of PERL Mortgage has followed. Prior to becoming a VA loan specialist, he spent 10 years working with disabled veterans as a chaplain. Now, when not welcoming people into houses of worship, this former seminarian can be found helping them into homes of their own.

After joining the lending industry in 2006,Chookaszian quickly worked to complement his unique understanding of veterans with an expertise in VA loans. He accomplished this by building relationships with the VA Regional Loan Center until he was intimately familiar with their channels,
processes and resources.

“I’ve developed a depth of knowledge about VA loans that allows me to be a resource to veterans and their Realtors alike,” he says. “I can answer questions and provide guidance based on guidelines I’ve learned through experience. I’ve found that when you know your answers with confidence, deals tend to close.”

Chookaszian is assisted by a team that shares his genuine concern for helping families. They allow him to better serve his clients and focus on building stronger relationships.

In the coming years, his goal is to continue leading his team to serve veterans and their Realtors well as they expand their reach in the market of VA homebuyers.
