Melinda Jakovich

Realtor
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group

After almost 20 years in the industry, Melinda Jakovich is at the height of her career. Her understanding of Chicago’s luxury market has positioned Jakovich as one of the city’s most notable high-end brokers, garnering consistent recognition as a top luxury producer by the Chicago Association of Realtors.

Jakovich’s ability to look past the minutiae and see the big picture of the local market helps her understand the nuances of each of the many vibrant Chicago neighborhoods she works in. Currently, Jakovich’s business includes large co- ops, large single-family homes and several luxury high-rise condominiums.

She’s been a member of LuxeHome’s top 25 Chicagoland luxury producers, a 15-year member of Coldwell Banker’s President’s Club – her former brokerage – and was a recipient of KoenigRubloff’s prestigious Gold award, but despite the accolades and consistently high sales, Jakovich is adamant in pointing out that she wouldn’t be where she is today without the expert tutelage of her great mentors, Annetta Gray and Elaine Waxman.

“While these two women are very different leaders, I will never forget the unique lessons each of them imparted on me,” she says. “They taught me the importance of relationships, and what it means to be ethical and honorable with clients. These are core values I still hold to this day.”

Jakovich also believes that treating fellow brokers with respect and integrity is of the utmost importance. “We need each other,” she says.

To stay ahead of the ever-increasing competition, Jakovich leverages the advantages of the latest technology. Through her smartphone, which she describes as “the center of her Web presence,” Jakovich helps get the word out about her listings by staying active on popular social media platforms, as well as her website. She also maintains a blog that offers additional insights.

“It’s important that I stay connected with my clients,” she says. “I have a feel of the fabric that ties us all together – those threads and connections. It’s what I love to do, which is why I’m on duty around the clock.”
