Among Chicagoland’s Realtors, Ruth “Drussy” Hernandez stands out because of her incomparable knowledge of the real estate market and her innate ability to build lasting relationships. With over 30 years of experience, she views her career as an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives, rather than just transacting sales and purchases. Expert communication skills and industry insights enable her to help both experienced and first-time buyers and sellers navigate Chicago’s complex real estate market.
Hernandez understands human nature, listens rather than hears, and puts herself in others’ shoes. Unquestionably, that’s why her role has always been centered around managing agents. She works closely with them to offer the counsel necessary to guide their professional development and success. Each day affords teachable moments that allow her to share her experience and know-how with the agents she mentors.
The Chicago Association of Realtors recognized Hernandez’s contributions to the industry in 2017 by awarding her its prestigious Managing Broker of the Year award. She’s also CAR’s treasurer, a board member, and is slated to become president-elect in October 2022. Hernandez is a proud member of numerous professional organizations, including the National Association of Realtors, the Illinois Association of Realtors, the Women’s Council of Realtors, the Asian American Real Estate Association of America, the Dearborn Realtist Board and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals.
A handicraft artisan and church volunteer in her off-hours, Hernandez participated in a three-day, 60-mile walk for breast cancer. She believes hard work yields outstanding results. That’s why she strives for collaboration and cooperation to ensure that everyone–her clients, the agents she works with and herself–attains their real estate goals.
