Michael Shenfeld, real estate consultant for The Shenfeld Group, LLC, at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff, knows building relationships is more important than making a sale. He truly listens to his clients’ wants and needs, and consequently has a 100 percent referral-based business. “I work with everyone from first-time buyers, growing families, empty nesters, investors and developers,” he said. “I enjoy the unique challenges each type of buying or selling experience brings and find it extremely rewarding to help my clients throughout the whole process.”
Shenfeld’s expertise and hard work has led him to be in the Chicago Association of Realtors’ top 1 percent since 2011. He’s also been in the top one-half of 1 percent of sales professionals based on gross commission income or closed units, and has been recognized for his sales volume and units closed for the past 10-plus years. Shenfeld has also been a recent recipient of the KoenigRubloff Award, which is awarded by colleagues for having a positive attitude and demonstrating integrity and professionalism.
Shenfeld began his career in real estate in 2002, after owning and operating his own commercial photography studio in Chicago for seven years. “I made the move because I could still be creative helping clients envision themselves in properties, and continue using my artistic side with marketing their properties as well,” he said. He founded The Shenfeld Group, LLC, in 2003, and his team is consistently ranked among top teams nationally.
Shenfeld said his proudest personal accomplishment this year was working with Habitat for Humanity. “I have always wanted to help on a Habitat for Humanity build, and last year, through the KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation, I was fortunate to be able to do so,” he said. Shenfeld has also been involved with The Josselyn Center for 15 years and is co-chair of the center’s Golf Committee. He also supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In his free time, Shenfeld enjoys spending time with his wife Lori and his two daughters, boating on Lake Michigan, taking rides on his Harley, photography and playing golf.
