Sharbel Shamoon
Vice President of Residential Lending
PERL Mortgage
Teamwork and supporting others is key for Sharbel Shamoon, vice president of residential lending at PERL Mortgage. In both real estate and his philanthropy work, Shamoon embodies the quote, “You aren’t a true success unless you are helping others be successful. Success is meant to be shared.”
A Chicago native who’s been in residential finance since 2004, Shamoon has a keen understanding of Chicago real estate. He mostly works with first-time homebuyers, young couples and families who are now in need of a bigger property. Shamoon’s team stands out for its white glove customer service. “Both 2016 and 2017 have been the year of ‘team’ and not ‘I.’ Clients love the experience they receive working with the entire team,” Shamoon says.
Shamoon has become a leader in the lending market, and was recently selected to be the preferred lender for a new West Loop development that will be delivered in the fall of 2018. As well as having extensive knowledge of real estate, Shamoon’s ability to make people smile, laugh and feel motivated to pursue their goals has been instrumental in his success. “I’m blessed to have business partners that genuinely thank me on a regular basis for helping them meet their goals,” he says.
Shamoon also volunteers with numerous charities, including The Night Ministry, Israel Idonije Foundation and Imerman Angels. The highlight of his past year was becoming engaged to his fiancée, Donna. In his spare time, he can be found playing basketball at East Bank Club or eating Chef Amy Arnold’s desserts at any of the Four Corners restaurants.
