Cory Tanzer is a top-producing broker at Option Realty Group, a locally owned and operated independent brokerage based in Naperville. The company now also has a location in Chicago’s South Loop. Tanzer is committed to supporting local communities and clients, always ready to recommend the best lunch spot or cup of coffee in his markets.

Tanzer is responsible for expanding the Option Realty Group into the city. He is president of a new brand, Urban Option, which is a real estate boutique that handles residential, commercial, investment and rental properties in Chicago. “I am so proud of helping to launch a downtown office for Option Realty Group to continue our growth in Chicago,” he says. “As a small boutique brokerage, I am proud of taking our small but mighty office from the suburbs and bringing it to the city where we have grown our sales by over 100 percent in the past year.”

Tanzer learned the value of customer service during his 10 years at Target, where he was a district manager. He was responsible for 4,000 employees in 12 stores with $1 billion in sales. “I learned the importance of listening to my customers,” he says. “My clients say I listen to them and understand their needs. Since all situations are different, it is key for me to listen to every detail and plan the course of action that will help them find their dream home.”

Tanzer is also passionate about volunteering. “I volunteer in my community and organize events,” he says. “I enjoy connecting my community to others to help make it a great place to live.” He was honored with the Connecting 4 Communities Service Award in 2017. “I am so proud of this because I have helped organize community cleanups, school supply drives and holiday gifts for underprivileged kids,” he says.

How does he stay focused and inspired? “I have this quote above my desk: ‘Put your heart, mind and soul into even your smallest acts.’ This is how I view my real estate career,” he says.
