Lisa Petrik, a Realtor with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, describes herself as a home matchmaker. “I love meeting people and being able to really connect with them and efficiently point them in the direction of exactly what they wanted, but didn’t really know how to describe,” she says. “By discovering parts of their lifestyle and goals, I build a connection with them after closing because we often become great friends.”

Petrik received her bachelor’s degree in marketing at Elmhurst College, an associate’s degree in air traffic control from Lewis University and a certification in psychotherapy. Her varied background helps her serve her clients. “My clients know they can always reach me to talk things through. My job is to guide and lead with expertise. I thrive on education and relieving my clients of their fears, whether regarding the transaction or in their personal life,” she says.

Petrik’s genuine interest has been instrumental in her success. “I like to make things fun. This industry shouldn’t be boring or stressful,” she said. “I am always focusing on the moment of now and reminding my clients that very soon they will be living their dream, whatever that looks like.” Petrik also has extensive knowledge of the city and is involved in the River North Business Association as the secretary of the executive board and the co-chair of planning and advocacy. She is also a development committee member of the River North Residents Association.

In her free time, Petrik is an avid traveler and loves spending time with her two dogs. “I’m an animal lover and have two small pups, Ms. Zoey and Mr. Coco Winston. They remind me to keep life simple and fun,” she said. “Every day, in every way, I want to be a better version of myself. Not only for me, but for the overall good of those in my life.”
