It should come as absolutely no surprise that our annual Truth About Agents issue is my favorite one. Of course I want to know how much money the other agents are making! Of course I want to know how many people are plotting to switch brokerages! Of course I want to know who’s farming out their listing copy to AI — although, let’s be honest, I can tell.
This annual feature is gossip in its purest form, tabulated into beautiful graphs and organized for our nosy pleasure. Take it all in! And while you’re at it, take in what a jam-packed month we had in March, too. There wasn’t a dull day.
On March 13, A and N Mortgage hosted a Real Estate Power Hour, which featured a panel discussion with some of NAR’s 30 under 30. It also doubled as a St. Patrick’s Day happy hour. We get St. Paddy’s started early in Chicago … just for Dennis Huyck to steal the show.
On that same night, Huyck held his annual St. Patrick’s Day blowout at Hangout Lighting in West Town. The Guinness-fueled evening featured real Irish dancers, and, yes, I did split the G.
Meanwhile, for the kiddies, the Lauren Roman Group of @properties Christie’s International Real Estate held a client appreciation party at a movie theater. The show? “Snow White.” I heard the princess herself made an appearance. Also on the Disney theme, CENTURY 21 held its Top Agent Retreat at Disneyworld from March 24 through March 27.
There were lots of big celebrations in March. On March 5, RE/MAX Premier held its annual Agent Awards Gala at Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. About a week later, NSBAR hosted its annual Circle of Excellence awards at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling; Luigui Corral was named Realtor of the Year. Later in the month, BHHS Chicago had its own annual awards party at RPM Events, celebrating top agents in style. The shindig featured a glamorous red carpet, delicious food and a dance floor that kept agents moving all night. Meanwhile, E&V held its annual EVX conference in Austin between March 24 and March 26, and on March 27, the Dearborn Realtist Board held its 84th annual installation gala at ROW 24.
Now, as March melts into April (literally), it’s time to keep the party going — CAR’s sales awards party is coming up on April 17. Before that, though, we have birthdays to celebrate. On April 8, b-day triplets Anne Ewasko, Carrie Jo Little and Dennis Dooley kick things off, followed by the king of green himself, Dennis Huyck, on April 11 and Lauren Mitrick on April 12. On April 14, Dennis Shaffer turns a year older, then Judy Gibbons on April 18 and David Wolf on April 19. On April 20, best buds and co-leads Tommy Choi and Josh Weinberg share a birthday — is anyone surprised? And after that double bash, we have Chad Gilbert on April 22 and Sam Sharp on April 24. On April 25, there are three big b-days: Leigh Marcus, Jennifer Mills Klatt and Ivette Rodriguez Anderson, followed by Monica Canellis on April 27 and Tim Brigham on April 28. Steve McEwen winds things down — or ramps things up — on March 29, with Marty Winefield closing out the month on April 30.
