Rita Bogus, KOMAR Real Estate, Des Plaines

by Emily Mack

Describe your look:
Business professional.

What do you consider a “fashion don’t”?
Wearing clothes that show too much of the brand name and/or logo.

Does your style reflect your personal brand? If so, how?
It does. I take my business seriously. I believe in the power of a personal brand. I know how important that first impression is, and I try to dress accordingly. Even in a busy day full of showings, I dress business casual to be sure I look professional while I also feel comfortable.

What style has come back into fashion that shouldn’t have?
The oversized everything. I am not a big fan of oversized clothes, at least not for myself.

What item of clothing gets you the most compliments?
Dresses and heels, of course.

What is a fashion crime you have committed in the past?
Buying and wearing clothes of a smaller size.

Where are your favorite clothing stores or brands?
Express, J.Crew, Loft, Zara.

What fashion accessory do you feel naked without?
Earrings and maybe sunglasses.

What’s the most expensive or meaningful accessory or piece of clothing you’ve ever acquired? Do you still have it?
A three-piece suit my mom bought for me when I was going into first grade. Not that expensive, but I was very excited about wearing it, and it made me feel special. I don’t have it.

What decade or time period had the best fashion in your opinion?
The 1970s, for sure.

What item in your closet do you wear the most?
Most likely dresses.

What advice do you have for dressing in the industry?
Dress to impress and build trust!

Shoes: Schutz. Dress: Spanx. Watch: Citizen.
