I try to keep it classic with a touch of funk. A punchy shoe, hat, necklace or fun pattern always makes me feel more me.

What do you consider a “fashion don’t”?
Listen, we have all participated in fashion don’ts, so I am not sure it is my lane to speak on it. However, I am not a huge fan of big labels on clothing. I think it can be kind of tacky.

What style has come back into fashion that shouldn’t have?
JNCO’s and insanely baggy pants with enormous pockets. I like baggy pants, but those things were wild. A blast from Hot Topic past.

What item of clothing gets you the most compliments?
I have a pair of brown cow print loafers from Blackstock & Weber, and people always compliment them when I wear them.

What is a fashion crime you have committed?
Oye. Let’s just say I had a hippie era.

Who is your style icon? 
Andre 3000, Erykah Badu, Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird.

What decade or time period had the best fashion?
The late ‘60s/early ‘70s were fun. I look at pictures of my parents from then and love the vibe.

What’s the most expensive or meaningful accessory or piece of clothing you’ve ever acquired?
I have a shirt that was my mom’s from when the Cubs first put lights up at Wrigley Field on 8/8/88. I remember wearing it as a kid, and it was a dress on me. Now it is a little more snug. I love it. It is so soft.

Does your style reflect your personal brand? If so, how?
Yes. I try to understand a classic — like an old home, but know how to rework it for today, like a good renovation.

Where are your favorite clothing stores or brands?
Brands – COS, Our Legacy, Uniqlo for the budget classics, Aime Leon Dore, Corridor, I lust after Double RL, but don’t own anything. Stores – Gemini, Notre, Saint Alfred, Una Mae’s. Also, I love a thrift and well curated vintage store.
