What is Chicago’s best-kept secret?
One of the most impressive things about Chicago is how clean it is for such a big city. The downtown area, especially around the Loop and along Michigan Avenue, is consistently well-kept. This focus on cleanliness, combined with the city’s expansive green spaces like Millennium Park and Grant Park, creates a beautiful contrast to the towering skyscrapers.
What’s your favorite meal in Chicago?
I wouldn’t call myself a big foodie, but I’ve been really enjoying Miru in Chicago lately. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the dishes are incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. It’s one of those places where the flavors are refined yet approachable, so even someone like me, who isn’t always chasing the latest food trends, can appreciate a great meal.
What do you love most about the industry?
What I love most about real estate is the deeply human side of it — the opportunity to be part of some of the most important moments in people’s lives. In this profession, you’re not just handling transactions; you’re building trust and relationships, and you’re helping people make choices that will shape their future. Real estate is, at its heart, a service profession, and I find immense satisfaction in knowing that I can be there for clients as a guide and an advocate, helping them navigate what can often be a complex and emotional process.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I distinguish myself in real estate by truly personalizing my services and drawing from my own experiences, especially when it comes to relocation. Having gone through the challenges and excitement of moving to a new city, I understand firsthand what clients need in that transition. From finding the right neighborhood to understanding local schools and amenities, I focus on making the process as seamless and supportive as possible.
What has been your greatest accomplishment?
Starting a career in real estate has been one of my most rewarding accomplishments. Shifting into a new profession was both challenging and exhilarating, as it required me to step outside my comfort zone and embrace a whole new set of skills and responsibilities. Learning the ins and outs of the market, building a network from scratch and gaining the trust of my clients has been a journey marked by dedication and resilience.
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
Something people might be surprised to learn about me is my international background and multilingual abilities. I grew up in Mexico City, with a father from Switzerland and a mother from Colombia, giving me a rich blend of cultural influences. I speak Spanish, English and French, having mastered English as a teenager. Navigating between these languages has broadened my perspective and deepened my appreciation for different cultures, making my approach to life both diverse and well-rounded.
