Guaranteed Rate Field, the home of the Chicago White Sox, will likely change its name to Rate Field in 2025.

This week, mortgage company Guaranteed Rate changed its name to Rate and introduced a new logo. The move immediately prompted speculation about whether Guaranteed Rate Field would also be changing its name.

“Heading into the 2025 season, Rate will be working closely with MLB and [the] White Sox to begin converting the name to Rate Field,” said Kameron Baetge, a spokesperson for Rate. “For the remainder of the 2024 season, Guarantee Rate Field’s name will not change. However, within all stadium advertising, Rate will be prominent.”

The South Side ballpark has been called Guaranteed Rate Field since November 2016 as part of a 13-year naming rights deal. The stadium opened in 1991 as Comiskey Park, the same name as its predecessor, until U.S. Cellular purchased naming rights in 2003.
