While 2020 seemed like the longest year in existence, 2021 is just whizzing by. Here we are, almost three-fourths of the way through the year, which means it’s time to take a look at what the market is doing out there. I hope you already have some idea, because you can’t really be in this industry if you’re not keeping track of what’s going on in the big, wide world of real estate. But, in case you have zero clue, rest assured that the brilliant, masterful and, dare I say, gorgeous team of experts at CA are here for you! And yes, I do include myself as part of that team of experts, even if no one wants to give me my own desk in the office. I do finally have a hook for my Burberry jacket, so that’s a start. Enough about me (though it’s never really enough), let’s get on with what you came for.
Speaking of gorgeous and brilliant, our July cover gal, Yolanda Jeffries, hosted a cover story celebration on the Aon Center’s 80th floor on July 24. I’m sure you’ve already devoured that issue, but if you haven’t (and even if you have), take another glance at how sharp Yolanda looks in that leopard print dress.
Rumor has it that Danny Glick is now missing part of his thumb. Word on the street is that he sliced off a little nub while opening a bottle of Champagne on a certain lender’s boat. I really hope he was using the sabrage technique — yours truly’s preferred method of opening pretty much any container, which entails skilled use of a sword — when it happened, as it makes the story that much cooler.
NAHREP Chicago recently held its first in-person event, Together Juntos. They were so happy to be in-person that they jam-packed the day full of lunch, speakers, Q&A sessions and a happy hour mixer. My favorite part was probably the neon-sign selfie wall, but there were a lot of nifty things going on that day.
As you can tell, I can’t seem to get enough of these in-person events now that they’re back in action! The Reed is hosting a series of exclusive Realtors lunches, the most recent at Gibson’s Italia. Since it was an exclusive event, of course Agent X was offered an invite on a silver platter, which, funny enough, is also how my lunch was served.

Niko Apostal parties on Aug. 6, but maybe he can join in on the fun with Akos Straub and Maria Munoz on their shared Aug. 8 birthday. Mike Bilodeau celebrates on Aug. 10, right before Debra Dobbs on August 15. Mimi Mack and Susan Morrow are mid-month Aug. 15 birthday twinsies, and Dennis J. Papiernik will get to eat cake on Aug. 21. Adam McLain and Mike LaFido share an Aug. 23 birthday, and then Honore Frumentio, Sam Tarara and Lynn Weekley round out the month with their birthdays on August 26, 29, and 30, respectively.
