Either way, I’m sure it sounds like I brag a lot (because I do), but I totally could’ve been an auctioneer. It’s hard to tell from typing, but I am skilled at speaking really, really fast. Basically, it’s because I have a lot to say at all times, which should come as no surprise.
Enough about me; let’s hear about you people. Tim Brigham decided to do some summer moving and shaking right on over to Wintrust Mortgage. But more importantly, he welcomed a new Brigham boy to the world on July 22! Also, soon-to-be former CAR staffer Brian Bernardoni announced his new venture will be called Aurelius Public Affairs, but we all know he wants to run for office. Will he be one of the Five Good Emperors?
Everybody is obsessed with Chance the Snapper, as they should be. Some in Vegas were so excited they got Chance the Snapper tattoos. I can’t wait to see which agent will be the first one to follow suit.
Summer is here for sure, and I don’t want to hear any sweaty complaints. We waited a long time for the rain to dry up and the sun to come out, so let’s enjoy it instead of looking ahead to long-sleeved football weather. On July 18, NAHREP held their Havana Nights mixer at Shore Club at North Avenue Beach. Now I can’t get that song about “Havana” out of my head (ooh na na).
On July 25, HBAGC took advantage of the warmth and held a Rooftop Party at the Guaranteed Rate headquarters. We all know what it’s like to party with the G-Rate folks, and if I could remember what happened I would tell you all about it. Also on the 25th, YPN held their Summer Mixer at Apogee Lounge. The youngsters enjoyed artisan cocktails and light appetizers with a cash bar on the rooftop. I think I stopped by, but again, it’s a bit hazy. If you saw me there, let me know.
After all those boozy evenings, it was nice to join YPN for their monthly breakfast on July 31 at Manny’s Coffee Shop and Deli. The topic was prospecting, and the panel provided some strategies on how to best utilize your network and maintain a strong pipeline of leads. Of course, I could’ve been on the panel myself, but it was nice to hear what the kids are talking about these days and snag breakfast at Manny’s.
Say happy birthday to Stephanie “Summer” Andre-Ouellette on Aug. 5, and then the same to Nick “No-school” Apostal on Aug. 6. Akos “Air-conditioner” Straub and Maria “Muggy” Munoz share an Aug. 8 b-day, while Mike “Backyard” Bilodeau celebrates on Aug. 10. Debra “Daisy” Dobbs parties on Aug. 12, while Mimi “Margarita” Mack and Susan “Sunshine” Morrow share an Aug. 15 birthday. Then, let’s not forget about Rita “Rooftop” Unzner on her Aug. 16 birthday.
