While some of Chicagoland’s counties are seeing impressive growth in their new construction markets in 2016, others are slipping considerably, according to exclusive numbers from Metrostudy.
The differences are striking – while housing starts in Cook County are up 40.13 percent through 2016’s third quarter (there were more than 1,700 in the county), starts in McHenry have moved in the opposite direction, falling 32.17 percent to just 253; similarly, while construction is trending positive in Kane and Kendall Counties, it is down in DuPage, Lake and Will.
