The Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe) has selected Bob Dohn, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Schaumburg, as the 2014 Realtor of the Year.
MORe’s Realtor of the Year is selected using a list of criteria that includes local, state and national Realtor association service, community service, business accomplishments and professional designations. As an active member in the Realtor community since returning to residential brokerage in 1995, Dohn serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Realtors and has previously been a board member for both the Illinois Association of Realtors and MORe. Additionally, Dohn has contributed to a variety of National and Illinois Association of Realtors committees, working groups and forums.
Dohn served as the 2010-2011 President of the Realtor Association of Northwest Chicagoland (RANWC) and led the team that negotiated its successful merger with MORe. As a RANWC board member, Dohn served on Professional Standards, Finance and Executive committees and chaired its Realtor/Lawyer Committee for four years.
“I have always found great satisfaction and value in participating in the Realtor community. Working among so many dedicated, talented volunteers and staff at all association levels has been an inspiration,” said Dohn.
Prior to joining Coldwell, Dohn worked in property management for retail shopping centers. He served as Director of Operations for Tri-Land Properties before assuming the role of Vice President of Property Management at Tanguay-Burke-Stratton, a leading Chicago commercial realty firm.
Dohn said he has been motivated by his career in the real estate industry to give back to the community in which he works. His branch office raises thousands of dollars annually on behalf of Coldwell Banker’s charitable foundation, as well as taking part in annual Customer Appreciation events, which generate donations for local food pantries.
“Bob Dohn exemplifies the Realtor as a community leader,” said Pradeep Shukla, president of MORe and broker/owner of RE/MAX Renaissance of Des Plaines. “Bob has dedicated himself to his region and his industry. His years of experience leading association boards and committees prove he’s willing to roll up his sleeves in order to make improvements.”
