Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage recently announced that Marie Fay has joined its Naperville office. Fay has nearly 10 years of experience as a broker and is re-entering real estate after 2 years with Wintrust Mortgage. Fay describes her work ethic as putting herself in the client’s shoes. “My goal is to deliver to them and set realistic expectations so there are no surprises,” said Fay. She also added that with each individual client, it is important for her to go above and beyond these expectations.
Fay believes that customer service is of utmost importance in any job—whether it is appraisals, inspections or closings. “No matter how good you are at selling, if you are not servicing the client, you will lose them,” she said. Fay believes that understanding and knowing the entire process, inside and out, is key. It is crucial for Fay to set expectations according to each unique client. She has honed in on giving people good experiences, which in turn leads to referrals. Fay’s business is driven by word of mouth and it is these experiences she is providing her clients with that give her an edge in this industry.
For Fay, it is the business side of real estate and the detail involved in the process that keeps her interested. In combination with that, Fay loves the creative side to real estate. She has always taken interest and curiosity in looking at homes and how people decorate their homes. She loves the challenge of finding the perfect match for each client. Seeing the process begin and end is captivating to Fay. “Understanding and knowing how the process will play out is key,” she said. What each client can afford, what he or she wants and what is realistic is all part of that process, which is necessary for an enjoyable and stress-free transaction.
Fay is excited about her move to Coldwell Banker. The Naperville office’s managing brokers had only good things to say about Fay. “Marie is a friendly, approachable, and reliable broker,” said Linda Fogarty. Paul Leganski added, “We are thrilled to have her associated with our office.”
Fay believes in treating all clients with respect and confidentiality. Fay used three words that she prides herself on and that describe her approach to real estate, “Communication equals success.”
