Real estate professional Kevin Van Eck received a nice gift before the holiday season even started: @properties promoted him to vice president of training and brokerage services at its River North office.
Van Eck worked as the firm’s director of agent development prior to accepting the promotion, according to a recent press release. He will still develop educational, training and business-growth programs for @properties, like he has done for nearly a year and a half. He will take on more duties in his new role, including monitoring recruitment, marketing and the office’s day-to-day operations.
“Kevin has done a fantastic job as a trainer and coach,” @properties co-founder Thaddeus Wong said. “He has introduced many of our agents to new technologies that have been instrumental in the growth of their business, and he has also served as a great mentor. This new role will be a very natural transition for him.”
Van Eck, a U.S. Army veteran, began his stint with @properties in 2008. From 2009–2011, both @properties and the Chicago Association of Realtors recognized Van Eck as a top producer. From 2009-2012, he was president of the executive board of @properties’ nonprofit foundation, Friends and Neighbors Community Fund.
Michael Golden, co-founder of @properties, said the opportunity to promote Van Eck came at the right time.
“Kevin is very personable and has a unique set of skills that has been incredibly beneficial to our agents,” Golden said. “This position presented a great opportunity for both Kevin and @properties, as he was seeking more responsibility and we were ultimately looking for additional ways to leverage his skills and talent.”
