John Kmiecik was awarded political leadership award by the Illinois Association of Realtors.

The Illinois Association of Realtors (IAR) awarded Century 21 Founder and President John C. Kmiecik with the political involvement award, for his political and legislative service in real estate.

The award was given to Kmiecik during the association’s public policy meeting on Jan. 25, which was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Riverfront Conference Center in East Peoria, Ill.

“John is a role model for all of us with his steadfast linking of political activism to the causes of home-ownership and the real estate industry,” said Loretta Alonzo, IAR president and broker-owner of Century 21 Alonzo & Associates in La Grange Park.

After 30 years of service in real estate, this isn’t Kmiecik’s first award. He was awarded the 2010 Illinois Realtor of the Year and 1997 Realtor of the Year by the Chicago Association of Realtors. Kmiecik has been inducted in the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame and has served twice as chairman of the IAR RPAC Trustees Committee.

Kmiecik was also once president of the Chicago Association of Realtors and he served as president of the Illinois Association of Realtors in 2004.

“John is a devoted Realtor who is constantly contributing in numerous ways to the advancement of our industry.” said Mike Onorato, Realtor, former president of the IAR and president of RPAC. “He is a leader whose strong work ethic is evident every day, and he has given considerable time and expertise to issues related to professional standards, leadership development, legislative advocacy.”
