I am an idiot when it comes to mortgages. When I meet with clients I smile and nod and then slip them my LO’s card whenever conversations head that direction. I know about tax credits and down payments and interest rates, but if you want any more details then I start to tune out and think about my next luxury cruise.
I’ve worked with a number of LOs over the years, and now that I’ve found the best one in the state I will not send my clients anywhere else. The fact that my LO always has box seats to the Cubs and Bears games doesn’t hurt, either. You hear me mortgage peeps? Want to get on the good side of an agent make sure to give them lots of gifts, and I guess being nice to clients is helpful. On to the good stuff.
I keep forgetting to send shoutouts to my glorious fans who send me e-mails. Kevin Dembinsky is apparently working on a feature film that is a real estate comedy. He says an A-list celeb is in talks to star and shooting starts in March. I asked for a cameo and haven’t received a reply. Also, I think Robert Kleiner might have me on a list of some sort because I’ve gotten a banana test and a video of a gazelle. Beggers can’t be choosers I suppose.
Twenty-four-year real estate veteran Brae Hanson moved to Baird & Warner’s Gold Coast office on Jan. 12. Brae is kind of like brie, which is my favorite cheese. @properties picked up some agents, including Kevin Wood and Peter Cummins. MS. Wood was formally with Prudential Rubloff Properties, while Cummins used to be with Coldwell Banker’s Winnetka office. Nice snag for @.
ParkView Condominiums will host a casual Realtors to the Rescue event at their pet-friendly project with beer and bar snacks catered by America’s Dog on Feb. 2 from 5-7:30. Furry mascots are not allowed to attend, but I’ll sneak in anyway.
Gammonley Group’s Market Street West Condominiums in Willow Springs will host a broker open house featuring their generous commissions and recent price reductions on Feb. 9 from 1-3. Gammonley Group is also hosting a wine and cheese party at 757 Orleans on the same date from 4-7. Mr. Gammonley sure has a busy day ahead of him.
In case you don’t have enough to do on Feb. 9, Weichert, Realtors — Frankel and Giles-represented Astoria Tower will host a broker open from 12–2:30 with free massages, manicures and personal trainer demos as they feature the new spa.
Fat Tuesday will be celebrated at Lexington Square in Bridgeport as they host a New Orleans-style lunch, give away Mardi Gras goodies and showcase their models and Realtor Rewards program. I will be bringing beads, so ladies and gentlemen you know what to do to earn a pair.
Michael Golden got loose on Jan. 21, and Jon Millikin turned the big 3-0 on Jan. 26, with Kevin Thornton celebrating on the same day (I wonder if he ever found his coat). Janie Coffey did not reveal to us the age she turned on Jan. 27, and Joe Marrone partied on Jan. 28. Mosella Clair will get down again and again on Groundhog’s Day Feb. 2, along with CA photo superstar Amanda Gruenwald. Amy Settich — still with MCL! — will celebrate Feb. 4, while Kelly Wong will have cake on Feb. 9. Last, but never least, Hamza Ishaq’s birthday is on Feb. 10.
