Milwaukee, also known as the Brew City or the former Beer Capital of the World, has been home to some of America’s most well known breweries, including Miller, Pabst, Schlitz and Blatz. To celebrate the history rich in hops, there is the Milwaukee Brewers MLB team, the Milwaukee Beer Museum and many independent breweries and beer-centered eateries. Bordering the western shore of Lake Michigan, Milwaukee also boasts miles of lakefront land and the most parkland per capita of any U.S. city. Set against the backdrop of old Milwaukee’s cream city brick breweries and warehouses, comes a new kind of architecture. In the last five years, Commerce Street, just north of downtown, has been transformed from an industrial waterfront into an award-winning neighborhood. The Edge, a new 133-unit riverfront condominium development by Tandem Developers LLC, has taken its place in the neighborhood at 1890 Commerce St.

Nearly half of The Edge’s site will be designated as open space to be enjoyed by the public, including a new 500-foot riverwalk, courtyard and riverfront park. The project is also bordered by Kilbourne Park, set high on a bluff facing downtown and Lake Michigan.
The Edge’s location features easy access to all of downtown’s business, culture and fine dining. The Edge’s contemporary finishes and outdoor spaces set above the Milwaukee River create an architectural option that is unlike anything else found in Milwaukee today.
The development offers 16 different unit configurations with open floor plans, tall ceilings, bamboo flooring, granite countertops, gourmet kitchens, stainless steel appliances and contemporary European finishes. The Edge also has green features, like expansive walls of windows and bamboo flooring. All residences will also include large terraces and underground parking.
