Waterview LLC has broken ground at the site of Waterview Tower & Shangri-La Hotel, Chicago, a 90-story, mixed-use high rise at 111 W. Wacker Drive that will include residential condominiums and penthouses, and the five-star Shangri-La Hotel, Chicago. The building is scheduled for completion in 2009. Waterview Tower will comprise 233 luxury condominium and penthouse residences from floors 30 to 88, and 200 hotel condominiums at the Shangri-La Hotel, Chicago, from floors 12 to 27, and parking from floors two to 11.

The hotel condominiums measure from 488 to 1,780 square feet. According to Dvorak, the Shangri-La Hotel, Chicago, will bring new standards of luxury to the city, with views of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, exquisite exterior and interior design, spacious guest rooms and suites, round-the-clock butler service, a signature spa, restaurants and meeting space.
Residential condominiums measure 1,087 to 8,070 square feet, and include penthouses on floors 68 to 82. Floors 83 to 88 offer full-floor penthouses with 360-degree views of downtown Chicago.
Waterview Tower is the only residential and hotel high-rise to contain separate and distinct amenities. As a result, residential condominium owners have exclusive access to the 29th floor, which offers a hospitality room with gourmet kitchen; an 8,000 square-foot roof garden with sundeck and dog run; fitness center with a 60-foot lap pool; and a business center.
