From fashion to finance, every step of Val King’s career journey has been about service, relationships and trust. Whether styling a client as a personal shopper at Saks Fifth Avenue or structuring a mortgage, she believes in helping people feel confident, seen and supported.
Currently serving as senior vice president of mortgage lending at OriginPoint, A Rate Company, King has over two decades of experience in the mortgage industry. Early in her career, she steadily advanced through leadership roles at respected institutions. She became a partner at A. American Financial, joined The Federal Savings Bank, served as senior vice president at Guaranteed Rate Companies and joined OriginPoint in 2024.
“Throughout my career, I’ve supported many of Chicagoland’s top real estate agents, guiding them and their clients through the mortgage process with clarity, trust and a focus on results,” King explains. “My approach centers on personalized mortgage solutions and long-term relationships. Those values have led to my five consecutive years of recognition by Scotsman Guide, one of the industry’s most prestigious rankings.”
King ranks in the top 3% of mortgage professionals nationwide and in the top 1% of female lenders. She is ranked 3,476 among more than 88,000 industry peers.
“The most rewarding part of my work is helping people achieve the dream of homeownership — especially those who once thought it out of reach,” King reports. “Turning aspirations into milestones has always been my mission.”
King lives in the North Shore with her husband of 30 years. The couple has two adult children: Sophie King, a passionate real estate agent with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate, and Josh King, a fellow mortgage professional at OriginPoint. The family also includes Leo, an endlessly charming pug, and Sam, a mischievous orange tabby. Outside of work, King enjoys paddleball, pickleball and international travel.
