Tom Sillitti has been a Broker Associate with the Baird & Warner Gold Coast Office since 2005, and represents residential home buyers, sellers, and seasoned investors throughout Gold Coast, Streeterville, Lake View, Lincoln Park, Edgewater, Uptown, Rogers Park, River North and West Loop communities. After growing up in Lakeview, he has made Lakeview East his home for more than 40 years. “In Chicago’s fast-moving market, finding great properties for very discerning buyers has been extremely challenging,” he explains. “I recently had buyers properties sell in less than a week without a new place lined-up, and I was able to find them a home that they loved in a record amount of time. I consider that a win!”

A singer with the Lyric Opera of Chicago from 1979-2021, Sillitti started performing at the Opera at a very young age. He taught singers for more than 25 years, and was a member of the faculty at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. “Chicago is an amazing musical and architectural city, and after I worked with some very talented stage designers and directors, my appreciation for architecture and design was definitely heightened,” Sillitti shares. “Being able to advise my seller clients on aspects of staging and design for their homes before bringing them to the market satisfies my background as a teacher! As we all know, a well-staged home will sell faster, and for more money.”

A member of the Chicago Association of Realtors, NAR and MRED, Sillitti has been in real estate for 22 years. Recognized for his extensive inventory knowledge within his market areas, he’s been known to contact property owners whose home is not listed, but in which his clients have interest. And yes, it works!

Sillitti credits his ability to listen to client’s needs and wants as being instrumental in his success. “I might be the greatest negotiator in the business, but if I don’t listen to my client, I’m done,” he says. “It’s all about communication.”
