Launching a career in the home financing industry at age 18, Michelle Aponte Boksa started out by working as a receptionist for a mortgage broker owned by her mother and her partners. She progressed to loan processor, then sales assistant, before earning an MBA and becoming a loan originator. Now, 22 years later, Boksa’s mother, Elizabeth, is her lending partner and her brother, Christian, assists with marketing. “The family business is a tremendous asset as we are equally committed to bringing a great experience to all of our clients and referral partners,” she says. “My long-term goal is to share my experience with other originators who aspire to thrive in this field.”

An originating branch manager with Neighborhood Loans, Boksa specializes in assisting first-time homebuyers and upgrade clients, busy professionals and women entrepreneurs. “I empower my clients to make informed decisions and develop a plan for future investments,” she explains. “With my educational approach, clients receive clear, comprehensive information about the mortgage process, which helps them feel confident throughout their homebuying journey and beyond.”

Soon to be serving on the board of directors for the Chicago Association of Realtors, Boksa has been recognized multiple times in the Scotsman Guide, ranking among the top 1% of mortgage professionals nationwide. She was also named one of the Top 250 Latino Mortgage Originators by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Beyond her professional accolades, Boksa has organized local fundraisers for the Greater Chicago Food Depository and continually seeks ways to give back to the community while embracing new opportunities.

Growing up in a large family in the vibrant Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, Boksa enjoys rediscovering the city through the eyes of her seven-year-old son, cooking alongside her husband and spending quality time with her extended family.
