Every homeowner needs property insurance. That’s where Nik Champion comes in. With six years in the business as owner of the Champion Insurance Agency, Champion works closely with real estate agents and lenders to provide the insurance products needed for closing deals on single- and multifamily homes, rental properties and condos, many of which are for first-time buyers.
As the youngest district manager for insurance in the country prior to opening his own agency, Champion worked with a variety of agents. “That allowed me to learn perspectives, try ideas and test processes with top agents across the country,” he recalls. “I started working with Realtors and lenders because I wanted to bring new ideas from outside the real estate industry with a fresh approach to the same problems all of our businesses face.”
Last year, Champion increased staff and production by doubling down on coaching, skills development and lead-generation events to surpass goals. He then continued to build relationships in the real estate industry by sharing what he and his team had learned, offering lunch-and-learn events and one-on-one meetings to help agents adapt his methods to generate real estate leads.
Today, the Chicagoland native and his still-growing 11-member team are known for getting results for clients and real estate professionals alike. “Whether it’s with clients or referral partners, we treat each interaction like another way to continue to earn their business,” Champion shares. Clients say that he is fast to respond and delivers on his promises. For real estate agents and mortgage lenders, he strives to offer results that exceeds the value they’ve had with any other partnership in their real estate transactions.
Champion, who became a father last year, has been a recipient for five years of his company’s Pinnacle Elite Award and was a 2022 finalist for the Ray Lynch Community Service Award. He serves with Tim Brigham on the board of the nonprofit Superhero Collective and visits hospitals as a real-life Iron Man. Champion also volunteers as chapter advisor for the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at Northern Illinois University.
