Michael Maier, Broker

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago

Starting his career working for a homebuilder in Indiana, Michael Maier was responsible for helping clients select land for their new homes. “My job was to help buyers choose the floor plan and help them choose the finishes for the inside and outside of the home,” he remembers. Now, 30 years later, he is a highly successful luxury sales and marketing broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, specializing in high-rise condominiums.

With his largest market share in Streeterville, where he has lived for over 20 years, he also sells in neighborhoods like Lakeview, the South Loop, River North and the Gold Coast. “Due to the nature of high-rises, many of my buyers are selling a second home or investment condominium and do not even live in the Chicago area,” he says. “I have many clients who I’ve never met, but I’m able to assist them with a seamless transaction.”

Known as a full-service listing broker who goes above and beyond, Maier successfully completed the sellout of the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago, consisting of 486 luxury condos and 339 hotel rooms from 2010 to 2014. Maier was VP of Sales and Marketing  for MCL Companies for 10 years and completed  sales in Old Town Village East and West, Riverview I and II Condominiums, Parkview Condominiums and River East Center Condominiums. He achieved over $500 million in sales through Riverview I and II, Parkview and River East Center Condominiums.

Named among Crain’s Most Notable Real Estate Brokers and a Five Star Real Estate Professional, Maier has been in the top 1% of real estate agents, according to Chicago Association of REALTORS®, which also named him a 2021 Chicago Top Producer. Maier has also received the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago Chairman’s Circle Diamond and Legend awards.

A member of the Streeterville Organization of Active Residents, Maier sits on two condominium association boards and supports the KoenigRubloff Cares Foundation. He enjoys biking, walking along the lake, boating and spending time at his second home on Simonton Lake in Indiana.
