Oriana Van Someren, Realtor

d’aprile properties

Oriana Van Someren was raised in the Western suburbs and continues to call it home, specifically Naperville. Her lifetime of market knowledge makes her invaluable to her clients. For Van Someren, the allure of real estate was the perfect combination of her background in sales training and luxury goods, along with her love for home design, architecture and home construction. Also, advocating for her clients is what keeps her going. “Helping others find and sell their homes and making new connections and friends is the best part,” says Van Someren, a real estate agent with d’aprile properties.

As a luxury home specialist, Van Someren’s background in the luxury goods industry helped her hone the skills that benefit her clients. “I learned how to be a good listener and how to solve problems for my clients. This skill has served me well in real estate as well,” she explains. “The luxury goods industry is all about the details of a product or service, what materials are used, the atmosphere of the space, the presentation, placement, etc. My approach to listing homes uses the same approach, it’s not a one-size-fits all model.”

Despite the challenges that 2020 brought, Van Someren grew her business by 250%. She received a d’aprile properties Black Key Award, as well as a d’aprile properties Gold Key Award. “The past year was a challenging one for all of us,” she shares. “I was able to adapt and continue to provide excellent service to my clients, such as conducting virtual showings through Facetime, creating Covid-friendly marketing campaigns for luxury listings and bulking up social media and online presence to help showcase properties.”

Van Someren is deeply involved in the Naperville community, sitting on the board of directors for her children’s school, as well as 360 Youth Services. She is also a member of Thornhill Society at the Morton Arboretum, and is an appointed commissioner for the City of Naperville Planning and Zoning Commission. To unwind, she loves to play tennis, garden, cook and travel.
