Lisa Dooley Trace, Real Estate Broker

@properties

Real estate is Lisa Dooley Trace’s third career. When several friends suggested she would be a natural in the real estate business, she knew they were right. She always had a passion for beautiful homes and for the past 20 years, she’s parlayed that passion into a successful real estate career.

“I have loved this profession with all of its highs and lows,” she says. “Every client is a challenge to find the perfect home that fits their occupational needs and personal taste and I love the challenge it presents. I also love the relationships. Most of my clients become lifetime friends”

She spent 19 years with Griffith, Grant and Lacki Realtors, before moving to the @Properties Lake Forest office last year with her daughter-in-law Samantha Trace where the two are expanding their sphere of influence and improving marketing through social media and other platforms.

After graduating from nursing school at Marquette University, she joined the Navy and had her first tour of duty in Bethesda, Md. where she met her husband. After serving 20 years on active duty and reserves, she retired as a Commander. After obtaining an M.S. in Nursing Management from Northwestern University and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago, she worked as a stock broker. It was when she was 46 years old she became a Realtor.

“My husband says I was made for this and should have done it my whole life,” she says. “I believe you carry your personal and professional skill set with you as you go through life. I know my assessment, listening and finance skills have been a huge asset in succeeding in the real estate business.”

She’s ranked in the Top 20 Agents in Lake County several times and received the Top 5% NSBAR Award several times for both volume and number of transactions. She’s also been a nine-time recipient of the Five Star Professional Award.

She credits her hard work and attention to detail as a huge factor in her success.

“Clients trust me and want to work with me again,” she says. “This business is so dependent on referrals and repeat business which has followed me throughout my real estate career.”
