Illinois’ largest local Realtor association celebrates its 100-year anniversary this year while continuing its efforts to support its 20,000-plus members in more than 200 cities across DuPage, Lake and Cook counties.

Mainstreet Realtors’ board of directors president, Linda Dressler, a broker with RE/MAX Suburban, says the organization’s board members and staff have worked diligently to maintain the industry’s highest standards during a year of shutdowns and social distancing. “We have been made to think outside the box and to continue providing opportunities for our members to learn, grow and use our increased member benefits,” she says.

CEO John Gormley says the association fielded nearly 10,700 calls from members in March and hosted more than 1,000 live website chats. “We are data-driven and member-focused, tracking all kinds of member interactions while always focusing on members to address their individual needs with a personal touch,” he says.

Dressler says she lives by the motto, “Helping from the heart,” a tagline given by her first managing broker in the business. “She knew me very well and could see the direction I was headed in with my real estate career,” she says.

Gormley says he’s best known in the industry for his dedication to collaboration and innovation, along with his ability to assemble people with diverse skillsets and perspectives to achieve great things.

In addition to its focus on supporting members, Mainstreet supports a number of charities around Chicagoland, including Community Partners for Affordable Housing, South Suburban PADS, Home DuPage, the Conservation Foundation, the Salvation Army, Lake County Responds and the North West Housing Partnership.

In her free time, Dressler likes singing, hiking, camping and enjoying the outdoors. Gormley enjoys kayaking and riding his mountain bike on the trails throughout Chicagoland.
