Jill Silverstein, President

Jill Silverstein Group, Compass

You name it and Jill Silverstein has sold it: Chicken wings, copy machines, radio ad space and software. “I have hustle in my blood,” says Silverstein, president of Jill Silverstein Group, Compass.

In fact, she never knows what day of the week it is, because she works all of them. With phone in-hand 24/7, she demonstrates to clients that she will always support their needs, advocate aggressively on their behalf and make buying and selling a home an enjoyable experience. “Coming to terms on a deal is my kryptonite,” says Silverstein, who assists clients throughout the city. “I pride myself on my ability to negotiate and strongly represent the client.”

Given their reputation in the market, the Jill Silverstein Group can often get clients into homes that are not even on the market or win acceptance of offers simply based upon their ‘get it done’ mentality. The JSG connects clients with the best resources for all their real estate needs and advises on each step of the home buying, selling and rehab experience.

Silverstein is in the Chicago Association of Realtors Top 1% of agents, and her team ranks in the Top 30 in overall volume. “Navigating a tough year with pandemic challenges, I’m really proud of our team and the way we overcame hurdles,” she says.

After graduating with a sports broadcast journalism degree, Silverstein came to Chicago from Detroit for an internship with WGN-TV. She fell in love with the city and turned down on-air news positions in Texas and Montana to stay. Once she became noticeably more comfortable with the art of sales, a co-worker at her radio ad sales job, who dabbled in real estate, suggested she give it a try. “I got licensed and dove in from day one,” she says. “I had found my soul mate — real estate!”

To give back, Silverstein is on the board of Laughter is the Cure, a nonprofit organization that brings smiles to hospitalized children and volunteers with Chicago Lights tutoring.
