Grace Flatt, Senior Broker

@properties

Energetic, positive, creative and always flexible, Grace Flatt, a senior broker at @properties, sets the standard for professionalism in the Chicagoland real estate market. With 20 years of experience, Flatt has amassed a team of trusted resources to help guide homebuyers and sellers past the potential roadblocks that can stall a deal.

“Experience matters, and I’m always learning more with every sale,” Flatt says, noting that she often ends up becoming friends with her clients, coworkers and service providers. “In real estate, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make a deal happen and, more importantly, to keep it together. You need to be able to work with others to understand their views and find ways to compromise.”

Her spirit of cooperation and strong negotiation has propelled her as a top producer in the metro area. She surpassed her sales goal for the entire year in the first half of 2021, with more than $20 million sold and under contract.

Her business focuses on Chicago’s North Side, North Shore and northwest suburbs, and Flatt has experience with every imaginable type of deal, including single-family homes, condos, townhomes, land, co-ops and multi-unit buildings.

“I help people achieve the American Dream through real estate, which is why my family immigrated to America,” says the first-generation American, whose mother immigrated from Italy. “I get excited to help new clients buy or sell, no matter if they are a first-time homebuyer or sophisticated investor.”

She says constant communication is the secret to her success. “When I start working with a new client, I like to have a phone call to explain the process and then follow up with an in-person meeting to make sure we are on the same page. As questions arise, I always answer my phone.”

When she’s not working with clients, Flatt can usually be found at the ice-skating rink, where her two daughters compete in figure-skating competitions. “I have always loved watching skating, and I love it even more now that I get to watch my own girls on the ice,” she says. “I appreciate the artistry, skill, competitive nature and teamwork in skating, much like my career in real estate.”
