Tim McLoughlin, Broker

Trust, open and honest communication, and customer-centricity are the three philosophies at the core of Tim McLoughlin’s belief system. After spending 17 years in management consulting at companies such as Accenture, Slalom and West Monroe Partners, McLoughlin learned quite a bit about client service and honed his organizational and problem-solving skills while adapting to his clients’ needs. It’s those same tenets of client service that have made his years as a Realtor such a success. “I believe a big part of the value of an agent is being a knowledgeable consultant and trusted adviser, whereas access to information and good client service are the table stakes,” he says.

After McLoughlin made the decision to leave his career in management consulting, an agent friend of his suggested he get his license. “I’ve always been drawn to the tangible nature of the business — architecture and design — as well as the prospects for growth as it relates to both investments and community,” he says. “I figured I’d give it a shot. Here I am four years later and loving it.”

In just his third year, McLoughlin was recognized in the Chicago Association of Realtors’ Top Producer awards. He also won the @properties Outstanding Achievement Award three years in a row. “Both acknowledgements were validation of my career change and my focus on personal and professional growth,” McLoughlin says. Not surprisingly, most of his clients come from his broad personal network, as well as referrals from past clients, family and friends.

An active volunteer and philanthropist, McLoughlin is the treasurer of the Herban Foundation, which supports efforts to provide healthy food and educational opportunities to underserved communities. He also produced a series of fundraising and community events in conjunction with the Herban Foundation and Manifest, a local artist collective. An avid runner, McLoughlin has participated in the Chicago Marathon seven times, which helped him raise money for charities including Mercy Home and Imerman Angels.
