Heidi Rogers, Assistant Managing Broker

Oak Park/River Forest Branch, Baird & Warner

She was making a great living as a brand manager for some of the best-known companies in the world, but Heidi Rogers wasn’t really enjoying life. “I was in a very stressful corporate job, so I decided to walk away and take some time out to consider my options,” Rogers says. “I discovered real estate during that sabbatical. I was initially attracted to the industry as an investor but soon realized that I could live my best life as a full-time Realtor.”

Rogers achieved her best personal sales year in 2019, when she became the No. 1 agent for volume and units in Baird & Warner’s Oak Park office. A wearer of many hats, she attained this distinction while also holding the role of assistant managing broker for the office and teaching a companywide negotiation class for all new Baird & Warner agents. “Outside of managing my own business, I help manage an office of approximately 85 agents,” Rogers says. “I juggle many projects, which helps me stay disciplined in my business. I also get to learn from the agents that do real estate at a very high level.”

Having acquired the Graduate, Realtor Institute, designation, Rogers notes her well-developed communication skills as one of her greatest assets. “I am direct. I give the news, good or bad, straight with no chaser,” she says. “I lay out the issues but also give several potential action steps to tackle those challenges. This helps with negotiation, mediating feuding parties, winning over other agents, and training and coaching new agents.”

A self-described foodie, Rogers enjoys dining out, traveling and golfing. She has made the best of the city’s shelter-in-place pandemic guidelines by rediscovering her passion for cooking and baking. Committed to community service, Rogers is taking an active role in addressing the real estate ownership disparity by educating people of color on the many benefits of homeownership and investment opportunities. As she’s originally from a small island in the Caribbean called St. Vincent and the Grenadines, retiring to a sandy beach is Rogers’ ultimate goal.
