Michael Shenfeld has been in sales since he was a teenager and has a passion for pinpointing clients’ needs and finding solutions. After a career as both a fashion and food photographer, Shenfeld was able to combine his sense of creativity with his love for negotiating to build a successful real estate career.
Shenfeld is senior vice president of sales and a broker for Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty. Through The Shenfeld Group LLC, he has been able to build a 100 percent referral business working with buyers, sellers and investors with a range of experience levels and budgets from Chicago to the North Shore. To Shenfeld, one of the most important aspects of real estate is ensuring every client knows their needs are a priority. “Luxury is a level of service and not a price point,” he says. “Every client deserves the white-glove experience.”
Shenfeld treats clients and colleagues with respect, kindness and thoughtfulness. He also mentors other agents and enjoys watching them grow their businesses using techniques he has taught them. “My mother was a teacher, and she instilled in me early in life that one of the most rewarding experiences is to share the knowledge you have and watch others succeed because of it,” he says.
Throughout his 17 years in the industry, Shenfeld has garnered his fair share of awards. From 2011 to 2018, the Chicago Association of Realtors listed him among its top 1 percent of Realtors, and in 2018, Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty recognized Shenfeld’s group as a Top 3 Residential Sales Team. This is Shenfeld’s ninth consecutive year being featured in the Who’s Who issue. Shenfeld is also a Certified Negotiation Expert.
For the last 13 years, Shenfeld has co-chaired the committee for The Josselyn Center for Mental Health’s annual golf fundraiser. He has also co-sponsored a table at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Four Stars of Chicago Restaurant Extravaganza for the last eight years.
Shenfeld devotes his free time to his wife, Lori; their two daughters; and their dog, Bailey, and also enjoys boating on Lake Michigan.
