Joanne Nemerovski, Licensed Real Estate Broker

Compass Real Estate

Joanne Nemerovski strives to provide an unmatched level of service and support, leveraging her understanding of the market and more than 25 years of experience to cater to her clients. Specializing in Chicago’s luxury market within Lincoln Park, Gold Coast, Streeterville, Lakeview, River West and Old Town, Nemerovski works with high-end buyers and sellers. She’s sold well over $1 billion of Chicago’s most desirable properties and consistently sells more than $50 million annually, all without relying on a team. From 2014 to 2017, she was honored as the No. 1 broker among all Berkshire Hathaway affiliates in the 12-state Midwest region. In 2019, she was chosen for the cover of Chicago Agent magazine’s luxury issue.

After four years as a corporate attorney, Nemerovski transitioned into real estate to satisfy a desire to work with individuals rather than corporations. “I was craving something more entrepreneurial and rewarding. I love homes, especially when I’m able to find the right one for the right client,” she says.

Nemerovski first worked for Koenig and Strey and then Berkshire Hathaway until 2017, when she made her move to Compass. “That meant stepping outside of my comfort zone for the second time in my professional career. Change is always scary, even when you know it’s the right thing to do,” she says.

Her relationships in the industry allow her to easily walk clients through what can be a daunting process. Nemerovski’s network is unparalleled, whether it’s help with pricing, staging, movers, cleaners, painters, flooring or other needs.

Nemerovski is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and several real estate associations. She enjoys biking, running, hiking and walking her dog by the lakefront. However, she’s happiest when with her family and giving back to the community. Nemerovski is on the boards of Facing History and Ourselves and the Respiratory Health Association, and supports the Francis W. Parker School, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago Ideas and the Leukemia Research Foundation.
