Dena Fox & Marlene Rubenstein

Rubenstein Fox Team

Love is at the core of everything Dena Fox and Marlene Rubenstein do, and nothing represents that more than their mother-daughter team at Baird & Warner. With a combined 23 years of experience, the duo at Rubenstein Fox Team caters to renters, buyers, sellers and investors from all generations, income levels and backgrounds, whether they are searching for their first home or their third. “Working side-by-side with my daughter each and every day and watching our team grow and flourish is one of the greatest joys,” says Rubenstein, adding that nothing tops being the grandmother of six.

Even with the downturn in the suburban market and the birth of Fox’s third child, she and Rubenstein had their most successful year yet, thanks in part to their growing presence and demand in the city as well as onboarding a full-time licensed assistant and a full-time buyer’s agent. In one notable transaction in 2018, they received multiple offers on a Glencoe property, selling it in less than five days.

Rubenstein, a first-generation American, had an early introduction to real estate, showing units in her father’s condominiums. She later tried her hand in retail as a partner at a Chicago boutique. Excelling in marketing and press relations for the store, she soon turned her focus to branding, opening her own agency and serving clients ranging from fashion houses to theaters, schools and corporations. However, Rubenstein eventually returned to her roots, earning her real estate sales and broker’s licenses as well as an Accredited Buyer’s Representative certification.

Fox too took a winding road to real estate, but after a period in investment banking, finance and analytics, she joined her mother in the family business. Together, they regularly rank among Baird & Warner’s top 1 percent of agents and the top 1 percent of agents on the North Shore. Crain’s Chicago Business named the duo among their Most Notable Real Estate Brokers, and the team has also earned the 5 Star Professional Award.

Fox and Rubenstein are both active in their community, volunteering with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois.
