Cathy Walsh, Broker

Jameson Sotheby's International Realty

Lauded for her “let’s get it done” attitude, Cathy Walsh, a broker with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, has spent more than two decades carving out her niche in the real estate industry. Though she started her career as an interior designer, Walsh now works with a range of buyer and seller clients in Chicago and the western suburbs. “After graduating from the Harrington College of Design, I began my own design and build firm,” she explains. “Once I had completed the design work, I felt like I was the best person to sell the homes I had worked so hard on. That’s why decided to earn my license.”

A Certified Real Estate Specialist, Sellers Representative, and former member of both the American Society of Interior Designers and The Home Builders Association, Walsh possesses an artistic eye and a keen business savvy. In 2017, she ranked as a top producer at her firm, and she just recently obtained her real estate license in Indiana.

Switching firms in 2018, Walsh has sustained her well-defined marketing strategy, tapping the talents of her marketing coordinators, web designer, maintenance administrator and others to expand her reach and stay in touch with her network of friends and former clients. “I like to combine technology with handwritten notes and mailers to my sphere of influence,” she says.

Prior to joining the real estate industry, Walsh was a nurse for 10 years, first in a trauma unit, then as a teacher and finally as a public health nurse in suburban Cook County. She serves on the board of directors of Mount St. Joseph, a facility for women with physical and cognitive disabilities, and on the business advisory council for Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota. She is also a member of the nominating committee for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Walsh still exercises her creative side outside of her work. “I love photography and try to keep up-to-date on the newest camera equipment,” she says. “I can also be found leading tours for the Chicago Architecture Foundation.”
