THE TNT TEAM, Waterstone Mortgage

A mentor once told Tariq Khwaja and Tim Brigham to become masters of their craft. “We made it our mission to excel in every arena in the residential field,” say Khwaja and Brigham, branch managers at THE TNT TEAM at Waterstone Mortgage. What inspires them most about the mortgage lending business is their entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to help people become homeowners. “We fulfill our dreams by helping people fulfill theirs.” Besides his mentor, the person who motivates Brigham the most is his wife. “She is the strongest person I have ever met and she inspires me to never give up,” he says.

Khwaja has the same relentless drive. “We fight for the client to make sure it’s as pleasant an experience as possible,” he says. “Buying real estate is unlike any other purchase; it’s an experience every time.  We are honored to be part of it.”

Clients run the gamut from NFL players to schoolteachers. “We are a white-glove and red-carpet-oriented organization, which helps us properly serve our clients in the community. The client experience is what matters at all times.”

Realizing that the current lending environment is complex, they take their time explaining solutions with utmost professionalism to their clients, always making sure they understand the “why” behind a request or process: “We respect our clients and communicate with them early and often as a standard.”

Throughout their 16 years in the industry, the team has accumulated numerous industry awards and honors, including the 5-Star Professional Award, Michigan Avenue magazine’s Power Players and CS magazine’s Real Estate Visionaries. They have also been featured on the cover of Top Agent magazine.

They are also extremely proud of their philanthropic work, having founded the children’s charity the Superhero Collective. “It takes guts, and let’s be real, are you going to put on a superhero suit and visit sick children in hospitals? It’s one of the toughest things we have ever done, but it’s our way of paying it forward. We couldn’t have done it without the continued support of Chicagoland.”

Putting smiles on the faces of children who are suffering from grave illnesses makes them feel like all of their hard work counts for something.  “We get to impact people whom we have never met. Getting stopped on the street for a heartfelt thank you after one of our visits and hearing we made an impact makes it all worth it.”
