Rebecca Jensen is as curious about technology as she is passionate about the real estate industry, and as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED), she’s able to combine both interests and serve thousands of agents, brokers and appraisers. “In the 1990s, the Internet was just beginning to shift the way all businesses were approaching their strategies,” she explains. “I was confident the Internet was not just a fad, but something to harness, so I took a job at the local MLS and stayed on because of the potential I saw.”

Now, MRED serves over 45,000 Realtors throughout Chicagoland and was selected to be the first MLS in the country to adopt the MLS Grid, a new platform technology that’ll streamline data collection and analysis, making it easier for brokers and technology partners around the country to reduce expenses and simplify transactions. This year, MRED also launched Broker Outreach, a new department dedicated to creating tighter communication between industry professionals and their clients.

Jensen is on the Board of the Broker Public Portal (BPP) and is Board Chair of the MLS Grid. She is also involved with the Council of MLSs, MLS Roundtable and the COVE MLS Group. She has spent years on the Inman Most Influential People in Real Estate list and was honored with WCR Chicago’s Elevate Award. Recently, she was recognized again in 2018 as part of the Swanepoel Power 200. “Understanding the importance of strong relationships is critical to my success,” she says, adding that her willingness to pick up the phone and collaborate continues to be an asset.

Jensen came to the Midwest three years ago and is more than ready to call it home. “The welcoming nature and open culture of Chicagoland continues to fill us with gratitude,” she says.
