Mary Serle, Broker Associate

Baird & Warner

Baird & Warner

After years of working in corporate sales, Baird & Warner broker associate Mary Serle couldn’t quite shake the idea that her heart might very well be in real estate. She has now spent 11 years in the industry and looks forward to each upcoming opportunity.

Serle decided to take the skills and discipline she learned from her corporate sales position and incorporate it into her own real estate business. She maintained both her sales position and her business until 2016 when she decided to go full-time as a Realtor herself. Serle now serves clients in both the Chicago metro and the suburbs, and they include residential buyers and sellers.

Serle finished her first year as a full-time Realtor with more than 50 transactions and $10 million in sales. In 2017, she exceeded her first year of sales and grew her business by 10 percent. “Since I just went full time as an agent in February 2016, my first year without my corporate sales job and as a Realtor was fueled with ambition, fear and my passion to succeed,” she says.

Serle received the 2017 Baird & Warner Founders Club award, as well as the Chicago magazine Five Star Real Estate Agent award for the past three years. She was also within Key Mortgage’s top 1 percent of mortgage units in 2017. But her biggest accomplishment in the past year has been her involvement in the Baird & Warner Military on the Move program. “Being a mother to a military veteran, all active military and veterans hold a special place in my heart,” she says. “I really enjoy and feel a personal accomplishment whenever I can assist an active military or veteran buy or sell their home.”

Serle’s unique variety of skills learned over the years contributes to her ability to put clients’ needs at the forefront at all times. She also loves the challenge of a new project, and her clients know that she is always empathetic when it comes to their wants and needs. “It is really a privilege to be able to do what you love for a living each day,” she says.

Outside work, Serle enjoys bike riding whenever she gets the chance. She also loves to take weekend trips to new cities, as well as anywhere with water nearby.
