Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty

Judy Gibbons has never turned down a challenge. She harnesses what she refers to as her “never quit attitude” to help others achieve their goals. She sees solutions, not problems. As a broker associate with Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, Gibbons specializes in the Chicago and Barrington markets, and works primarily with clients who are looking to sell their current property and purchase a new one soon after. Relying heavily on referrals from friends, family and past clients, Gibbons also takes advantage of her connections through the Women’s Council of Realtors and Jameson Sotheby’s to ensure that if sellers are moving out of state, they are in the best possible hands.

This year, Gibbons ranked among the Top 20 agents at Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty and was named a Top Producer by the Chicago Association of Realtors. She was also selected by Crain’s as the Most Influential Realtor, thanks to a nomination from a past client for being the first broker in the region to use drones and utilize social media to its full potential.

Prior to becoming a broker 13 years ago, Gibbons started a clothing company in Manhattan during the 1980s. “Being a 23-year-old in New York City teaches you a lot about sales and believing in yourself and your product,” she says, adding that even after transitioning to another industry, her entrepreneurial mindset continues to be an asset. “I have learned that I always need to stay ahead of the curve, always want to learn and truly want to help people,” she says. “That’s the foundation of my business.”

Gibbons is the president of the Women’s Council of Realtors Chicago and the governor of the Women’s Council of Realtors Illinois. She is also a member of CAR, Illinois Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, the North Shore–Barrington Association of Realtors and has a Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource Certification.

“I’ve been described as tenacious and tireless,” she says. “I live and breathe all things real estate.”

To gain a 360-degree perspective, Gibbons and her husband are seasoned travelers, recently going to Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa, where she visited the Sotheby’s office in Cape Town. “Traveling the world has been invaluable,” she says.
