Jeff Bier of Bier | Dobek | Associates, LLC brings more than 20 years of real estate industry experience to the practice of law, and as attorney and partner, he offers his clients and their brokers access to focused legal counsel. Working with residential real estate buyers and sellers as well as with corporations, investors, and their respective brokers, Jeff specializes in the Chicago metropolitan market.

Prior to attending law school, Jeff was a senior program manager at the engineering consulting company Tetra Tech Inc., where he led resource management, environmental compliance and sustainability-focused initiatives for clients like Amtrak, the City of Chicago and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In that position, he also participated in due diligence for acquisitions, site design, environmental remediation, and securing LEED green building status.

In order to provide high-quality service to clients, Bier | Dobek | Associates, LLC uses custom-designed Google apps and cloud-based project and practice management systems. “Going into this practice area, we could not identify an off-the-shelf software solution that would meet our needs in managing our firm and our client’s transactions so we built our own” he says, explaining that because of their embrace of technology, the firm has been able to cut the time spent on some routine tasks by as much as 90 percent. “This effort has served the dual purpose of allowing us to externalize our focus to clients and their brokers and easily scale for growth.”

Bier is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association and the American Land Title Association.

When he isn’t working, Jeff enjoys traveling, playing golf, reading and cooking, as well as keeping abreast of new legal and technological issues.
