After a prestigious corporate career with a Fortune 500 company as the senior vice president of Asia sales, Deena Schencker decided to make the leap to become an entrepreneur, and the real estate industry held special appeal. Now, seven years since Schencker established her own real estate business in Chicago, she is vice president of sales at Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty.

Schencker works with sellers, buyers, investors and tenants in the Lakeshore East, River North, Streeterville, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, West Loop, South Loop and North Shore suburban markets. She serves a variety of clients with a range of real estate experiences, from first-time homebuyers to seasoned investors. In 2017, Schencker founded a Business Networking International group, with focus on growing customer engagement and empowering other entrepreneurs. This marks a major accomplishment for Schencker, who notes, “As president of our highly recognized referral chapter for BNI, we spent seven months recruiting to bring this group from idea to launch, and grow my business along the way.”

Known to deliver outstanding customer experiences, she recently stepped in when two other Realtors had not succeeded in their yearlong attempt to sell a home. With small targeted improvements, proper staging and a strategic marketing plan the home sold within 48 hours of Schencker relisting it, courting multiple offers over list price. Of her business, Schencker says 99 percent is by referral. “I provide a concierge experience before, during and after the transaction. This approach enables me to nurture client relationships, increase satisfaction, expand referrals and create repeat business.”

In addition to BNI, Schencker is a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors, the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago and the Chicago Association of Realtors. She holds an MBA, a managing broker license, and is both a Certified Negotiation Expert and Accredited Buyer’s Representative to offer additional business acumen to her clientele.

Schencker engages in philanthropy for Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. In her spare time, Schencker loves to cook and always has her eyes on the vibrant Chicago restaurant scene. She is often working out at Orange Theory, practicing yoga or sailing, as she is actively involved with the Women on the Water Sailing Organization at Columbia Yacht Club.
