RE/MAX Synergy
A few years ago, Dave Shalabi was doing a high volume of commercial business, but he also wanted to expand his residential portfolio. That is when Shalabi, a broker with RE/MAX Synergy, decided to step up and make the commitment to achieve this goal.
His determination reaped incredible results. Shalabi saw residential growth of approximately 400 percent and the awards kept coming. From 2012 through 2017, he ranked as the No. 1 RE/MAX Commercial agent in Northern Illinois, and received the RE/MAX Titan award and induction into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. In 2016 and 2017, he ranked as the No. 1 agent for RE/MAX Synergy.
Shalabi prides himself on having integrity, honesty and transparency with his clients. “My clients know I will work hard for them and make the process, whether buying or selling, as smooth as possible,” he says. “We strive to negotiate fantastic deals and we have a high emphasis on a positive client experience.”
He works with buyers and sellers of residential and commercial properties, and investors in the southwest suburbs, an area he is involved with personally. Shalabi serves as a commissioner with the Village of Orland Park Planning Commission and former school board member in the Orland Park School District 135.
A member of the National Association of Realtors, the Illinois Association of Realtors and the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors, Shalabi also takes time out to serve the community. He is president of the Orland Park School District Foundation, volunteers at a local house of worship and has hosted food drives for area pantries and is a strong supporter of multiple not–for-profit organizations.
Recognized for his tireless involvement in the community, he recently received the Humanitarian of the Year Award from RE/MAX Northern Illinois. “RE/MAX Northern Illinois has approximately 2,500 agents, and among them are many of my highly respected and talented colleagues, many of whom make their own contributions to great causes,” Shalabi says. “I am beyond grateful to have been the sole recipient of the 2017 Humanitarian of the Year award.”
A former radiological/surgical technician at one of Chicago’s finest healthcare institutions, Northwestern Hospital, Shalabi traded in his scrubs for a suit to become a Realtor. “I wanted to utilize my drive, passion and entrepreneurial skills in ways that would challenge me,” he says. When he’s not working, he enjoys family time, traveling, sporting events and eating out.
